About

The experiences behind what I do.

I’m Taichi Mori, known online as Taichan. I’m a Japanese content creator and Computer Science graduate from Universitas Gadjah Mada. Living and studying in Indonesia has shaped the videos I make, the work I take on, and how I connect with people.

My Story

How Indonesia became part of my life.

I grew up in Japan and first visited Bali on a family trip when I was young. That was my first connection with Indonesia. During high school, I became interested in studying abroad and chose Bali to experience life in a different environment.

I wanted to broaden my perspective and open up more possibilities for my future. Experiencing local culture and daily life firsthand, and learning to think and act more independently, were also reasons for going. With help from the people around me, I gradually found my feet in a different language and culture.

I later studied Computer Science at Universitas Gadjah Mada. Alongside my coursework, living and learning with Indonesian students gave me experiences I couldn’t have found in a classroom alone.

In 2025, I began taking content creation more seriously, sharing my everyday experiences and life in Indonesia. The connections I made through sharing those experiences have helped shape what I do today.

Education

What I’ve learned along the way.

Study Abroad in Bali

Studying abroad in Bali gave me the chance to experience everyday life in Indonesia firsthand. Through daily interactions and unfamiliar situations, I learned to take more responsibility for myself.

Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM)

  • Bachelor of Computer Science
  • Computer Science — International Undergraduate Program (IUP)
  • Official Indonesian degree: Sarjana Komputer (S.Kom.)
  • Graduated: September 25, 2026

I studied programming, data analysis, artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, and database systems.

For my undergraduate thesis, I explored how machine learning and deep learning could predict Major League Baseball game outcomes. This was an academic research project.

Personal Journey

From everyday experiences to new opportunities.

Sharing on social media gradually opened up opportunities for brand collaborations, Japanese–Indonesian interpretation, modeling, and media appearances.

Through UGM’s community service program, KKN, I also joined community and tourism activities in Kalitalang. Working with local people reminded me to listen, respect their knowledge, and value the relationships behind what I share.

My Values & Vision

Why I keep sharing.

Many people in Indonesia have welcomed me, helped me adapt, and continued to support me. I’m grateful for that kindness. It’s one reason I enjoy sharing the everyday moments and encounters that have made living here special to me.

When viewers tell me a video made them smile, laugh, or feel a little more positive, it makes me want to keep creating. I also enjoy the conversations that grow from sharing an experience and hearing someone else’s perspective.

In the future, I hope to travel around the world, meet people, and learn about local cultures and daily life through their eyes. I’d like to share those experiences and give something back to Indonesia, too. As I keep learning, I hope to find practical ways to bring together content creation, cross-cultural communication, technology, education, and community activities.

Let’s talk.

If you have a collaboration or project in mind, I’d be glad to hear about it.
